📜 Brief History – Heathrow ATC Tower:

The current Heathrow ATC tower, standing at 87 metres tall, was officially opened in 2007 and replaced the older tower that no longer met the airport’s expanding operational needs. Located between Terminals 1 and 3, the tower was designed to provide air traffic controllers with a 360° panoramic view of the runways and taxiways. With over 1,300 daily aircraft movements, it remains one of the most critical and technologically advanced control centres in global aviation.
